Development of Skills for Independent Living Manual is intended for use by professionals in the field of education and social care. It offers methodological guidelines for delivery of an interactive training of children and young people to develop skills for an independent living.
The Manual covers 5 thematic areas, i.e. healthy lifestyle, communication and social skills, knowing oneself, rights and citizenship, skills for social inclusion. Each theme includes a combination of practical exercises; background information for the facilitator and the participants; and additional materials. The relevant normative framework has been indicated in reference to each theme.
The Manual received the official approval of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth as a methodological guide in line with state policy, laws and strategic documents in the field of child protection and welfare, which is to raise the quality of services provided at specialised institutional care facilities.
