The meeting was designed to create space for an informal discussion on the EU’s capacity as a global peace actor between the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy / Vice-President of the Commission (HR/VP) , senior EU officials and the top leadership of established peacebuilding civil society organisations.
The speakers presented the EU commitments and achievements on conflict prevention and peacebuilding, including the driving actions within the EEAS and the European Commission on the basis of an integrated approach. The particpants discussed common challenges and opportunities faced by peacebuilding practitioners and the way forward for the EU and what role for civil society organisationsfor theEU and what role for civil society organisations.
