This Handbook of Child Participation has been developed by Partners Bulgaria Foundation within the framework of the project Encouraging Child Participation by Strengthening the Role of Children’s Schools, Municipal and District Councils. The project aimed to create a favourable environment and an operational framework for the implementation of child participation. At the heart of the program is the belief that if child participation policies and complementary structures and procedures are implemented at school, municipal, district and national levels, children will have better access to decision making on issues that affect their life.

The Handbook offers interactive learning while teaching students various leadership skills, skills of active citizenship and democratic participation, child rights and human rights.

The project was supported by UNICEF Bulgaria and was implemented in cooperation with the State Agency for Child Protection and the Ministry of Education and Science.
