Executive Director

Daniela Kolarova is the founder and Director of Partners Bulgaria Foundation since 1998. She has a MS in Psychology PhD in Sociology. Between 1990-2008 she was a lecturer in social psychology at Sofia University “St.Kl.Ohridski”. She is certified mediator and trainer in mediation from the National Conflict Resolution Center, San Diego, California /2003/. During the period 2006-2012 Dr. Kolarova served as president of the network Partners for Democratic Change International and as its Director in Brussels. Between 2000-2010 she represented Bulgaria in the Council of Europe program “Education in Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education”.

Dr. Kolarova is responsible for the strategic development of PBF programs in the areas of alternative dispute and conflict resolution, civic education and human rights, inter-ethnic cooperation and combating discrimination, promotion of child rights and development of policies and procedures for child protection and support of marginalized groups. She works for promotion of mediation and civic participation in Bulgaria and in countries such as Jordan, Yemen, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Moldova where she participates in  programs developing cadres of facilitators and mediators of conflict and disputes in communities and various areas of life.

Rumen Minkovski : Deputy Director

Rumen Minkovski

Deputy Director

Rumen Minkovski has a MS in psychology from Sofia university St.Kl.Ohridski and teaches organizational psychology at Department of Tourism at the same university. He works at Partners Bulgaria Foundation since its establishment. He takes part in the organisation’s projects in the field of mediation, interethnic interaction, child protection and youth participation. Recently he is focused on the socio-psychological consequences of migration.

Rumen works as a researcher, consultant, trainer, evaluator and project manager. He is a certified mediator and trainers in mediation. He acts as chief trainer at the PBf and develops various training programs and courses.

Aneta Kalcheva : Facilitator and Project Coordinator

Facilitator and Project Coordinator

Aneta majored in Psychology from the St. Kliment Ohridski Sofia University. She studied Cognitive Science at the New Bulgarian University and is currently finishing her master’s degree in Artistic Psycho-Social Practices including psychodrama, role theory, group dynamics and art therapy. She has been a practicing psychologist since 2006. In 2011, she began actively working with children as well.

Aneta has extensive experience in profiling, psychological research and consultations. She is an excellent trainer and group facilitator, and has been creating and conducting engaging socio-psychological seminars for many years.

Aneta joined Partners Bulgaria Foundation in May 2015 as a facilitator and project coordinator. Her work focuses on child participation and empowering student councils at the school, municipal and regional levels. She is responsible for organizing and conducting seminars with children and adults, designing educational materials and coordinating the work of student councils.

Elmira Nesheva : Research and Development Officer

Elmira Nesheva has an MA in Philosophy and a BA in Social Work from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. She has extensive experience in working with risk groups and risk behaviors with a main focus on prevention and reduction of health and social consequences of drug use.

She is a trainer in Screening and Brief Intervention, certified by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimе and the National Centre for Addictions in Sofia. She also holds an Advanced Level qualification in “Motivational Interviewing – preparing people for change” – from the Bulgarian Institute for Addictions.

Elmira joined Partners Bulgaria Foundation in August 2015. Her main activities are related to domestic and gender based violence and development of a Victims Support Model.

Kristina Petkova : Administrative Officer

Kristina Petkova graduated Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohrisdski” with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, specialized in European integration and continued her education with a master’s program in European projects. She spent 6 months studying at the University of Saarland, Germany, where she received an achievement award in the field of European studies.

Along with her studies, since 2009 Kristina has been expanding her work experience as a volunteer, participant and organizer of youth exchanges and trainings under the “Youth in Action” and “Erasmus+” programs.

Kristina joined the Partners Bulgaria Foundation team in July 2015 as an associate on the “National Study on Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (DGBV) and Elaboration of a Victims Support Model (VSM)” project.

Irena Stoyanova : Child Development Specialist - Dupnitsa City Support Center

Irena Stoyanova

Child Development Specialist - Dupnitsa City Support Center

Irena Stoyanova has years of experience in counseling children and parents. She has been a teacher to children with special educational needs through the Resource center in Kjustendil as well as a therapist working with children at risk in the Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration in the town of Bobov Dol.
