PBF conducted a training seminar for facilitators specializing in child participation

On 8 and 9 October 2015 PBF conducted a training seminar focusing on Strengthening the role of municipal/regional student councils through facilitation of the cooperative planning process; empowering student councils to be a key factor in making decisions concerning children on a municipal and regional level.

The workshop was the last of a series of 10 within the project Promoting Child Participation Through Strengthening the Role of Student Councils at School, Municipal, Regional, and National Level, financed under the NGO Support Program in Bulgaria, part of the EEA Grants financial mechanism 2009-2014.

The seminar hosted 22 participants – experts from municipal and regional administration, as well as experts from 8 municipalities: Blagoevgrad, Gotse Delchev, Varshets, Montana, Sliven, Nova Zagora, Kotel and Tvarditsa, and the Sliven region.

The goals of the two-day workshop:

  • to present and explain the essence of cooperative planning process facilitation.
  • to promote a positive, constructive approach to participation in all stakeholders, including the children – representatives of student councils.
